Deworming Your Dog

“The thief came to steal, kill and destroy” Whenever I think about worms that verse comes to mind.

Have you ever wondered why your dog eats alot yet there is nothing to show for it in terms of weight? Well, worms could be the problem. When was the last time you dewormed your dog?
Did you know dogs are born with worms. Imagine that delicate cute puppy with worms as long as 10cm. To avoid this deworm the bitch as well as the puppies after birth.

Worms are parasites, they feed on the nutrients your dog gets from food. Some worms have hooks to help them feed on blood from your dog. Whats the consequence of this? Your dog will never add weight and will always look emaciated and anemic.

Lets go back to the 10cm worm. Do you know the size of that worm alone can cause death to your dog? Imagine not one, not two but tens of these worms in your dogs intestines. The intestines are not that big, so its not that hard to imagine how these worms cause obstruction which ultimately can lead to death.

So how do you deworm your dog? The simplest way is to get a veterinarian do it for you. You can also do it yourself at home by hiding the tablet in the food and hope your dog is not too clever.

You can get some dewormers over the counter.
